Alex James Jett, who passed away on May 31, 2024, was born on December 12, 1995, Alex was a passionate individual known for his even temper, politeness, respectfulness, manners, and above all humbleness of heart. From a young age, he displayed great athleticism and a competitive nature.
Alex leaves behind a special sense of humor enabling him to laugh at himself. He was a kind person who didn’t hesitate to tell you he loved you. He will be greatly missed.
Alex is reunited in eternity with his maternal grandmother, Jean Hardy, and paternal grandfather, James Jett.
He was survived by his parents Todd and Heather Jett, his siblings Zander Jett, Leslie Jett, and Sunnie (Curtis) Roberts. Additionally, he leaves behind paternal grandparents Sam and Annette Harding, maternal grandfather Thomas (Sharon) Alexander, along with Aunt Laine, Aunt Susan, Aunt Lois (Craig), Uncle Chester, Aunt Tammy, Aunt Zizzy, Aunt Mo and Uncle Tony, Carrie, Chad and DJ, with other uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews.

James Owen Fuqua Jr., known to many as “Jim,” passed away unexpectedly on May 31, 2024, in his hometown of Goodlettsville, Tennessee. Born on November 20, 1956, in Madison, Tennessee, Jim led a life filled with dedication and service to his community and country.
Jim’s career was marked by a profound commitment to upholding justice and protecting others. He commenced his journey in law enforcement as a police officer with the Goodlettsville Police Department, where he honed his skills and unwavering duty. Transitioning to the Metro Nashville Police Department, Jim served as a devoted homicide detective before concluding his career as an officer at the federal courthouse downtown.
A graduate of Goodlettsville High School’s class of 1974, he furthered his education by studying criminology at Austin Peay State University.
A man beloved by all who had the pleasure of knowing him, Jim was held in high regard throughout the community for his kindness and willingness to help those in need. His warm personality and strong moral compass left a lasting impact on everyone he encountered.
In addition to his distinguished career and educational pursuits, Jim also proudly served his country in the United States Army. His military service exemplified his selflessness and dedication to a greater cause.
During his leisure time, Jim found joy in various hobbies and interests. He was an avid supporter of University of Tennessee athletics and the Atlanta Braves Major League Baseball team. He also cherished the music of Jimmy Buffett and was a proud ‘Parrothead’. However, it was while fishing that Jim found solace and relaxation amidst life’s demands.
Jim was an unwavering Christian and a member of Goodlettsville Church.
Jim leaves behind a legacy cherished by many. He is survived by his devoted girlfriend Linda Cantrell and her son, Jason; loving sister Linda (John) Raska; aunt Betty Parker; uncle John Bentle; and a host of cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father James Owen Fuqua, Sr.; mother Jessie Frances Bentle Fuqua; brothers Lyn Royce Fuqua and Thomas Lee Fuqua; his girlfriend’s daughter, Dana Cantrell.
Visitation services will be held at Cole & Garrett Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Goodlettsville on Friday, June 21, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a Celebration of Life ceremony from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the same location. Pastor Tim Stutler of Goodlettsville Church will be officiating.

Obituary for Don Harp
Ernest Donald “Don” Harp, 83, of Montezuma, GA, formerly of Springfield, TN, passed away on Wednesday, May 29, 2024. Graveside services will be held on Monday, June 17th at 2:00 p.m. in the Springfield Memorial Gardens with Tim Harris officiating. There will be no public visitation prior to the graveside service.
An original Southtown Rinky Dink, Don was a man of many talents. He penned several books, poems, and short stories, painting pictures with his words and stirring emotions in his readers. He was also a published songwriter, adding melody and meaning to many lives. Spending countless years in Nashville, TN, within the Country Music Entertainment Industry, Don’s contributions were invaluable, shaping the industry he held dear.
Don, a proud member of the US Air Force during the Vietnam War, lived a life as colorful as the stories he wrote and the songs he sang.
Don’s life was a testament to the power of following one’s passions and sharing one’s gifts with the world. His creative spirit, warm heart, and unwavering dedication will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. The list of accolades could go on for days, but perhaps the most cherished were the moments spent with his loving family.
Don is survived by his children: Shelly (Steve) of Ideal, GA; Jason Harp of Springfield, TN; Nikki Harp of Montezuma, GA; and Derek Harp of Ellijay, GA. He was a devoted grandfather to Brandon (Jenny), Megan (Stephen), Joshua, Anthony, Jacob (Emily), Braxten Paige (whom Don raised just as he raised his own children), Olivia, and Darien, and cherished great-grandfather to several.
In addition to his immediate family, Don leaves behind a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and other relatives, along with a multitude of wonderful friends, all of whom held a special place in his heart.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings, and his beloved wife of 58 years, Helen Fay Harp, who passed away on October 8, 2022. Though physically parted, their love and memories will forever bind them together in the hearts of those who knew them.
He will be much loved and deeply missed by all who knew him.

Obituary for Linda Carol Bowers
Linda Carol Bowers passed into Heaven on June 2, 2024 at the age of 66. She regrets only that her abrupt departure did not afford her one last good smoke of a high-quality cigarette, and the opportunity to share that moment with her eldest son, whom she had convinced to choke one down with her for her last hurrah. Her family is certain that this was the first of many strong opinions that she took up with her Creator, who she revered, but for whom she had questions.
Carol was born on July 30, 1957 in Russellville, Kentucky to Truby and Linda Lee. She was a graduate of Russellville High School class of ‘75 and later served as the matriarch of an active-duty, military family during the height of the Gulf War. In her most recent years, Carol enjoyed a simple life with friends and family, a full glass of sweet tea, a fresh moon pie, and a good murder mystery.
She was preceded in death by her parents Truby and Linda Lee, and her beloved brother, Michael Lee. She is survived by her two loving sons, Jonathan Bowers (Sara) of White House, and Matthew Bowers of Portland; her grandchildren Lucy Bowers and Evan Leftwich; her sister, Kim Rust (Frank) of Auburn, KY and her brother Kelly Lee of Lewisburg, KY; her ex-spouse and forever friend, Bobby Bowers of Springfield; her chosen family, Pat Bowers of Portland and Willie Bettner of Madison, and many nieces, nephews, and loving friends.
Carol chose to be cremated and expressed her desire to have no formal service. Celebration of life for Carol Bowers will be at White House First United Methodist Church, 3403 US-31W, White House, TN on Friday, June 14th. Visitation for loved ones from 5-7 pm with prayer and remembrance service following. at 7pm.
Carol will be remembered for her deep intellect, her sharp wit, and her enduring love for George Carlin, who, she was certain, had it all figured out. In his words, “people who see life as anything other than pure entertainment are missing the point.” Carol, thank you for the laughter.

Obituary for Audrey Crawford
Audrey Lavon Crawford, 83, of Springfield, passed from this life on Monday May 27, 2024, at The Waters of Springfield.
Funeral services were conducted Friday May 31st at 1:00 p.m. at the 431 Church at 4776 Hwy 431 North in Springfield with Pastor Tony Stratton officiating. Interment followed in Springfield Memorial Gardens with Alan Crawford, Austin Crawford, Johnny Anderson, Jesse Hutchinson, Tyler Tucker, A.J. Crawford, Sam Crawford, and Caden Crawford serving as pallbearers. The family received friends on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the 431 Church.
Mrs. Crawford was born August 9, 1940, in Greenbrier, to the late Maydell and Marybell Costellow. She was a homemaker and a member of 431 Church in Springfield. She loved to crochet, listen to gospel music, find good deals at Goodwill and yard sales. Her favorite things in life were cheesecake, Zero candy bars, peach water, and diet Dr. Pepper. Mrs. Crawford loved her Lord, her church, and her family, especially each of her grand, great grand, and great great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Harold Crawford, her three brothers and seven sisters and her great great grand angel babies. Mrs. Crawford is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law: Randy and Frances Crawford of Springfield, Matt and Mary Crawford of Cedar Hill, Tony and Verna Crawford of Springfield, by her daughters and son-in-law: Julie and Danny Farmer of Auburn, KY, and Lisa Birdwell of Springfield, by her sister: Sue Casey, and by her 15 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren.

Deliah Wondell “Dell” Linthacum, age 88 of Ashland City, Tennessee, died Saturday, June 1, 2024 at Vantage Pointe Village.
Funeral services will be conducted at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Pleasant View at 1:00PM on Tuesday, June 4th. Burial will follow in Felts Cemetery in Ashland City with family and friends serving as pallbearers.

Mrs. Linthacum was born on September 29, 1935 in Cheatham County, Tennessee to the late Robert & Ethel Reeves Newland. She was retired after 20 years as a factory worker. Dell lived most of her life near Kansas City, Missouri before moving to Tennessee. She was a kind and giving person. Dell loved to garden whenever she could and attended Faith Community Church of the Nazarene in Ashland City.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sisters, Mable, Bertha, Ellie, Maxine, Uldean, and Mary; brothers, James, Joe, Delmous, Tex, Herman, and Bruce.
Survivors include a son, David Linthacum; brother, John Newland; two grandchildren, Joseph & Manny Linthacum; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Obituary for James Wilson McKee Sr
McKee, Sr., James “Wilson” age 86 of Cross Plains, Tennessee, died Saturday, June 1, 2024. Born January 17, 1938 to Erasmus P. and Frances Wilson McKee, Wilson loved God, his family, his country and community. He was a member of South Haven Baptist Church and previous member of Orlinda Baptist Church and Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, teaching Sunday School for over 45 years. Wilson loved his community and found many ways to serve such as Scout Master of Cross Plains Troop 453 for many years. He also enjoyed delivering meals and visiting nursing homes. He was a proud veteran of the Army and member of The Sons of the Confederate Veterans. He worked to start and build his own successful business, Perfection Moulders, Inc. Wilson loved history, particularly Civil War history, researching the Bible, Southern Gospel music and attending gospel singings. His family say that he loved to talk to people and tell “corny” jokes.
Wilson is preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara Judith McKee, a sister, Frances Claire McKee Harrod, a step-son, Tommy Allen; and his beloved dog, Klondike. He is survived by his wife Ann (Hagewood) Allen McKee; son, James W. McKee, Jr.; daughter, Lori McKee Baldwin, 3 grandsons, Jesse Nathaniel, Ezekiel Ray and Ian Peyton McKee; 2 granddaughters, Rachel Lee and Adah Kathleen Baldwin; 3 great grandchildren, Ella, Erasmus and Jude McKee; and 2 brothers, Richard Stein and Robert McKee.
Visitation with the family will be 3 – 6 pm on Friday, June 7, 2024 at the Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield, Tennessee. Funeral services will be 2 pm Saturday, June 8, 2024 at South Haven Baptist Church with visitation from Noon until the time of service at South Haven Baptist Church. Irene Johnson Palmer, age 94, of Springfield, passed away Thursday, May 30, 2024 at her home.

Mrs. Palmer was born December 14, 1929 in Barren Plains to the late Albert and Floy Gainous Johnson. A twin to her sister, Lorene, the “golden dust twins” were delivered by their aunt Blanch, weighing only 5 pounds each and their father called them “his babies” as long as he lived. Along with her sister, Lorene, Irene enjoyed playing basketball and cheerleading at Barren Plains School and at Springfield High School before graduating. She retired from South Central Bell after 35 years of service and was a member of Springfield Baptist Church for over 50 years.
In addition to her parents Mrs. Palmer is preceded in death by her husband, Franklin “Buster” Palmer and her siblings, Mable Heatherly, Delphia Williams, W.A. Johnson, Ammon Johnson, and their beloved dog “Muffin”.
She is survived by her twin sister, Lorene Dean of Springfield; and nieces and nephews, Ann (Bobby) Clinard of Springfield, Leah (Patrick) Tobin of Springfield, Edward Miller (Carolyn) Williams of Atlanta, GA, Terry (Julie) Johnson of Barren Plains, Tim (Kim) Johnson of Nashville and Stan (Janie) Johnson of Portland. Mrs. Palmer is also survived by a host of loving great-nieces and nephews, and dear friends.

Mr. Cox was born October 6, 1947 in Robertson County, to the late Albert Taylor Cox and Rosie Hart Cox. He was a God-fearing man, one of God’s faithful servants. John Wayne Groves, age 72 of Cottontown passed away Monday, May 27, 2024 at Skyline Medical Center. He was born November 3, 1951 in Franklin, KY to John Harrold & Wylo Dene Harrison Groves . He worked as a machinist for Nashville Wire and then retired in 2008 from J’Dak. In the 1970’s, he worked as a machinist for Richard Petty. He enjoyed farming most of his life and was a member of Cherry Mound Masonic Lodge #227. and Mount Pleasant General Baptist Church. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren more than anything else in the world.
He is preceded in death by his father; wife, Nancy Carol Groves. He is survived by his son, Jamie Groves, Cottontown, TN; mother, Wylo Dene Groves, Portland, TN; sister, Martha (Steve) Warren, Clemmons, NC; 4 grandchildren, Kyle, Alex, Eros and Liam.
Funeral service was held Friday, May 31, 2024 at 2pm in the chapel of Austin & Bell Funeral Home in White House with Pastor Gary Sullivan officiating. Interment followed in Cross Plains Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Visitation was Friday, May 31, 2024 10am until the hour of the service at the funeral home. A Masonic service was held Friday at 1pm in the chapel prior to the funeral service.

Katherine was born on March 8, 1933, in Sumner County, TN, and peacefully passed away on May 29, 2024.
She was known for her creative spirit and was described as a crafty person who found joy in creating beautiful things. Katherine was also a member of First Baptist Church White House.
Katherine’s proudest accomplishments revolved around her family. She was always proud of her loved ones and would often be heard bragging about them. Her grandchildren affectionately knew her as “Grandma”, a title she cherished deeply.
She was a devoted individual who dedicated 30 years of her life working for the State of TN in Human Services.
She is survived by her loving children: Wayne (Brenda), Johnny (Debbie), Marilyn (Jerry) Blair; grandchildren, Stacy Escue, Kelley Nelson, Chris Martin, Matt Martin, Steve Blair and Kristy Thompson; as well as 8 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
Katherine is now reunited with her beloved husband of 56 years, Noel Martin; grandchild Shayne Parker; sister Nancy Gann; and parents Owen Bates and Maggie Stafford Bates.
The visitation was held on May 30, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Cole & Garrett Funeral Home and Cremation Services in White House. A Celebration of Life service took place the following day on May 31, 2024, starting at 12:00 PM at the same location, with an hour visitation prior to the service. Burial took place at White House Memorial Gardens.

Obituary for Kitty Rice Binkley
Kitty Rice Binkley, 82, of Goodlettsville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully at home on May 6, 2024, after a short and courageous battle with cancer. She was born on June 17, 1941, in Nashville, Tennessee. She is survived by her three children, Kippi Binkley Braswell (Bob), Roy B. Binkley (Cheryl), and Randy H. Binkley; 6 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren. Kitty was preceded in death by her husband, Roy H. Binkley; father, Sam B. Rice; mother, Ecky Lois Rice; brother, Stanley Rice; and sister, Trudy Lynn Waits.
Following her graduation from Central High School in Murfreesboro, Tennessee in 1959, she attended Cumberland University where she majored in Business. After college, Kitty enjoyed a fulfilling career for many years as an Executive Assistant in a variety of fields. She began her career at AVCO; but a few years later, when her children reached school age, she decided to take her career in a different direction and began working for the Metro Nashville Public School System, along with serving in leadership of the PTA. Following this, she was given the opportunity to serve the Chairman of the Board of Suntrust Bank and thoroughly enjoyed her years there. When she left the bank, she went to work for the Kenneth Jones Company, after which she retired. All of her employers considered her a dependable, loyal and invaluable asset.
It was while at AVCO in 1964, she met her future husband, Roy Binkley, and they were married for 56 years. Together, they had 3 children, and she spent a lifetime being a selfless and devoted wife and mother to her family. She was also one of the best grandmothers on the planet, and she took great pride and pleasure in spoiling them. However, not only did she show love to the children in her family, she had a love for all children, and that was a big part of who she was. She won over most little ones with ice cream, a toy, or a good book and infectious kindness. She made nurturing children look so easy.
As the true matriarch and heartbeat of her family, her loss is deeply felt and her role is irreplaceable. The memories and traditions will never be forgotten, and the family was blessed to have had many created by her. Always busy, you’d be hard-pressed to ever see her sitting down, because she was usually doing something to serve her family. She loved having traditions, and one of the favorites was her decades of Sunday dinners. At these meals, the presence of family was expected, but if you happen to be a friend lucky enough to come by and hit dinner at the right time, you would get a good meal and great hospitality by Miss Kitty.
Some words used to describe her by those that knew her well have been fun, trustworthy, active, friendly, practical, honest, devoted and servant, all of which capture the essence of who she was. She embraced life with a light-hearted and generous spirit. As was her personality, she preferred being behind the scenes supporting others and drawing no attention to herself. Whether it be her family or those she worked with, she had a gift for serving and bringing out the best in everyone she helped.
Kitty was a great woman, and she embodied Proverbs 31:28 -29: “Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all.” Kitty’s legacy will live on through her loving family and the many lives she touched throughout her well-lived life and career in the Nashville community.
The family invites those who would like to honor Kitty by attending her Celebration of Life service, which will be on Saturday, June 8, 2024 from 1:00 – 5:00 pm at the Robertson Room located at 4580 E. Robertson Road in Cross Plains, TN 37049.

Obituary for Rev. Floyd Reynolds
Rev. Floyd Wells Reynolds, Jr., age 90, of Cedar Hill, Tennessee, died Sunday, May 26, 2024, at NHC Healthcare in Springfield.
Funeral services were conducted at Highland Chapel Baptist Church in Cedar Hill at 1:00PM on Thursday, May 30th, with Rev. Blake Stiles officiating. Burial followed in Springfield Memorial Gardens with Carson Read, Mark Read, Mike Sherrod, Scotty Cox, Gordon Beasley, and Randall McCarver serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Brandon Reynolds, Billy Hogan, Joe Bryant, Russell McDaniel, Robert Holman, Ryan Holman, and Russell Holman.
The family received friends at the church on Wednesday, May 29th from 5:00PM until 7:00PM and again on Thursday from 11:00AM until the hour of service at 1:00PM.
Rev. Reynolds was born on August 11, 1933, in Springfield, Tennessee, to the late Floyd, Sr. & Margaret Proctor Reynolds. He was the pastor/founder of Highland Chapel Baptist Church where he ministered for over 50 years. He was proud to have served in the United States Marine Corps., and he dearly loved his family.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings, Nell Rawls, Richard Reynolds, Bill Reynolds, Pat Slagle, Pam Parks, and Edna Reynolds.
Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Beula Mae Reynolds; son, Jerry (Marcia) Reynolds; grandchildren, Lindsey (Mark) Read, Robert (Olivia) Holman, Russell Holman, Brandon Reynolds, Ryan Holman, and Lauren Brown; and great-grandchildren, Carson Read, Jillian Read, Waylon Read, and Avery Holman.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Highland Chapel Baptist Church, 7364 Highway 41A, Cedar Hill, TN 37032. These contributions will be used to distribute Bibles throughout the world to continue his ministry.

Jeffery “Travis” Ayers, age 66, of Elkton, KY passed away Sunday, May 26, 2024 at his home.
Mr. Ayers’ wishes were to be cremated and the family had a Celebration Gathering of Friends from 3-6pm Friday, May 31st at the Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield.
Mr. Ayers was born March 14, 1958 in Springfield to Donald Levene Ayers and Hattie Elizabeth Heatherly Ayers. He was a truck driver and farmer most of his life.
Mr. Ayers was preceded in death by his father, Donald Levene Ayers; brothers, Samuel “Bo” Ayers, and Willie “Ray” Ayers; and a sister, Donna Creek.
He is survived by his wife, Joetta Ayers; sons, Gary Travis (Heather) Ayers, and Donald Thomas (Kasey) Ayers; daughter, Amy Nichole Osborne; stepsons, Jason Mallory, John Cornelius, Caleb Covington, and Cameron Dorris; 7 grandchildren, Gary, Jasmine, Emmy, Ariel, Justis, Alayna, and Jensen; 1 great grandchild, Adelina; mother, Hattie Elizabeth Anderson; and brothers, Tracy (Cindy) Ayers, and Mark Ayers.

Obituary for John Clinard
John Davis Clinard, 79, of Hendersonville, passed away on Saturday May 25, 2024, at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Pensacola, FL.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday June 1st at 1:00 p.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Reverend Diane Coppock officiating. Interment followed in Springfield Memorial Gardens with Austin Clinard, Dalton Clinard, Steve Green, Richie Howden, Tommy Kirkpatrick, Greg Porter, Wayne Ezell, and Kevin Nixon serving as pallbearers. The family received friends on Friday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
John was born December 15, 1944, in Springfield, to the late William Wallace and Bonnie Pauline Bush Clinard. He was a retired sales representative with Tire Center Incorporated and was of the Baptist faith. In his younger years, he coached Babe Ruth baseball and so many still called him “Coach”. John loved bowling, hunting, fishing, and playing golf. He loved doing yard work and making his lawn look the best he could. Being with his family was the highlight of John’s day and he always looked forward to spending time together.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife Peggy, who died on May 3, 2024, and by his siblings: Wallace Clinard, Mark Clinard, and Paulette Clinard. John is survived by his sons: Tim Clinard of Hendersonville, David (Jennifer) Clinard of Castalian Springs, and Steve (Nikki West) Clinard of Portland, by his grandchildren: Paige Clinard, Austin Clinard, Kaylee Clinard, Amber Clinard, and Dalton Clinard, by his brothers: Buddy Clinard of Cross Plains, Phillip (Rose) Clinard of Cross Plains, and Paul (Rita) Clinard of Cross Plains, by his sister: Bonnie Smith of Cross Plains, and by his best friend: Mike Schmidt of White House. Obituary for Margie Jenkins
Margie Gainous Jenkins, age 94, died peacefully Wednesday afternoon May 23, 2024, in Atlanta Georgia. Her grandson, Sean Hester, was with her at the time of her death.
Her burial service was held Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at the Gainous family cemetery on Dot Road in Adairville, Kentucky, and officiated by Brent Lee. Pallbearers will be Sean Hester, Seth Jenkins, Scott Gainous, Keith Knight, David Gainous and Carney Hallman. A brief on-site visitation was held from 1:00 until 2:00 preceding the service.
Miss Margie, as she was called by many, was born May 31, 1929, in Logan County, Kentucky, and died just eight days short of her 95th birthday. Her parents were the late Jimmy Price Gainous and Josie Bybe Gainous and her beloved stepmother Rebecca McGoldrick Gainous. Miss Margie spent most of her life in Kentucky with her children and husband. However, she also lived in Dade City Florida from late 1970 until 1989 at which time she and her husband, Rudy Jenkins, moved back to Kentucky to take care of her mother, Rebecca Gainous. In Kentucky, she worked for Houchins grocery store and in Florida she was a teaching assistant in the Pasco County school system. In addition to raising her children and working, Miss Margie was very active in the Church of Christ in Kentucky and Florida. She was also known by all to be an excellent cook and was always among the first to reach out to friends, neighbors and family when food and/or care were needed. She was truly devoted to helping those in need and doing so gave her great joy. It should also be noted that much of the food she cooked came from her own garden that she raised for many, many years with the help of her son, Jimmy.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Lewis Rudolph Jenkins, her brothers Jerry, Donald and Glenn Gainous and her sister Barbara Gainous Knight. She is survived by her son Jimmy Jenkins (wife Marina), daughter Janice J Hester-Daniels and by her grandchildren: Sean Hester, Seth Jenkins (Michel), Rachel Jenkins and her step grandchildren: Jennifer Daniels, Jessica (Krisztian) Varsa and Carson (Katherine) Daniels and by 11 great grandchildren.

Connie Laverne Whitaker, age 78, of Adams, Tennessee died Wednesday May 22, 2024, at Tristar North Crest Medical Center.

Connie was born February 3, 1946, in Springfield, Tennessee to the late Samuel and Margaret Rice Gilstrap. Her husband, George Marion Whitaker and brothers, Scott, David and Mac Gilstrap also preceded her in death. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother and enjoyed watching them all play ball and was an avid reader and an amazing cook and baker.
Surviving Connie are her sons, Sam Whitaker (Anita) of Adams, Jim Whitaker of Greenbrier; daughter, Hope Whitaker of Clarksville; brothers, Ronnie Gilstrap and William Gilstrap, sister, Lynette Sikes, grandchildren, Justin Whitaker (Tiffanie), Kalob Whitaker, Lauren Whitaker, Shelby Spann (Shane), Arley Pendergrass III and Micayla Pendergrass, 7 great grandchildren, and her loving sister-in-law, Debbie Petrus.

Pat Brummett, age 70 of Springfield, passed from this life on Monday, May 20, 2024 at her home.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of Robertson County Funeral Home with Pastor John Grosvenor officiating. Burial followed in Harper Hills Cemetery with Cameron Cantrell, Braxton Cantrell, Caleb Brummett, Garrett Overby, Lloyd Autin, and Tony Sexton serving as pallbearers. The family received friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4 until 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 8 a.m. until the time of service.
Mrs. Brummett was born February 1, 1954 in Scottsburg, IN to the late Edmund Hoytt and Wilma Odean Cox Cook. She was a member of Impact Baptist Church and was a homemaker. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren, and loved her church family as well. She enjoyed reading and even wrote a book herself. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David Earl Brummett; a brother, Charles Cook; and a grandson, Joshua Lynch.
Surviving her are her sons, John Brummett and Joshua (Christal) Brummett, both of Springfield; daughters, Delita Brummett and Ann Knight, both of Springfield; brother, John (Pat) Cook of Gallatin; sisters, Barbara (Ray) Casteel, Brenda (Jeff) Underwood, Cathy (Mitchell) Whitaker, and Lisa (Mark) Brummett, all of Gallatin; 17 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren.

Elaine Bowington Obituary
Elaine Brothers Bowington, 63, of Springfield, passed from this life on Monday May 20, 2024, at TriStar NorthCrest Medical Center.
In honor of her wishes, her remains were cremated and a private family memorial service will be held at a future date.
Elaine was born September 23, 1960, in Murfreesboro, to the late Robert Comer and Ester Dell Porterfield Brothers. She was a graduate of Maplewood High School Class of 1978. Elaine worked as a stock associate at Belk in Springfield, and she was of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed gardening, animals, and watching TV, especially Ghost Hunters. The highlight of Elaine’s life was spending time with her husband, her girls, and her cat.
Elaine is survived by her husband of 45 years: Les Bowington of Springfield, by her daughters: Lesley (Jason Ringrose) Bowington of Nashville and Heather (Eddie) Hauser of Nashville, and by her fur baby that she loved so much, her cat Jackson.

Obituary for Linda Patterson “Pat” Rolfe
Linda Patterson “Pat” Rolfe, 77, of Nashville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on May 24, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born on July 27, 1946, in Waverly, TN, Pat was the daughter of Marie and George Patterson. She graduated from Waverly Central High School in 1964 and soon after moved to Nashville where she would have an illustrious career in the music industry.
Pat’s career in the industry began in 1966 when Lamar Fike of Hill & Range Songs invited her to join the company. Over the next few years, she worked with legends such as Johnny Cash, Marty Robbins, Eddy Arnold, Hank Snow, Eddie Rabbitt, Bill Monroe, and George Morgan. A highlight of her early career was her work with Elvis Presley.
In 1972, Pat became General Manager of Hill & Range Songs, making history as one of the first women to head a major publishing company.
After the company’s acquisition by Chappell Music in 1973, she continued to excel, helping the company earn ASCAP Publisher of the Year seven times. Her leadership and vision were instrumental in the success of writers like Rory Bourke, Charlie Black, and many others. Pat eventually rose to the position of Vice President at Chappell Music and continued her influential work until 1987.
That year, Pat transitioned to ASCAP, where she served as Director of Membership Relations before being promoted to Vice President, a role she held until her retirement in 2010.
She was pivotal in nurturing the careers of many successful artists and songwriters, including Tony Mullins, Trevor Rosen, Hillary Lindsey, Josh Kear, Craig Wiseman, Chris Tompkins, Tim Ryan, Dierks Bentley, Brad Paisley, and Wynonna. Beyond her professional achievements, Pat co-founded the SOURCE Nashville organization and the Music Row Ladies Golf Tournament. She also served on the boards of the Nashville Songwriters Association International (NSAI), Nashville Music Association, Baptist Hospital, and the Copyright Society of the South.
In recognition of her outstanding contributions to the industry, Pat was inducted into the SOURCE Hall of Fame in 2012. Pat is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Mack; her stepchildren, John (Vanessa), Jim (Mary K), and Dick (Michelle); seven grandchildren; and brothers, Jim, Mike, Joe, and Charlie Patterson, and sister, Margaret Simmons. She was preceded in death by her parents, Marie and George Patterson, and her brother Jerry Patterson, and sister-in-law Ann Patterson.
A visitation with the family was held on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, from 9:30 until 11:00 at Green Hills Community Church with the funeral service beginning at 11:00 am with the Rev. Charles Moore officiating.

William Jackson Kilgore “Jack”, age 91, of Joelton, Tennessee, died Friday, May 24, 2024, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Funeral services will be conducted at New Hope Free Will Baptist Church in Joelton at 2:00PM on Wednesday, May 29th, with Bro. Corey Minter and Bro. Tom Malone officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery with his grandsons and son-in-law serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00AM until the hour of service at 2:00PM.
Jack was born September 1, 1932 in Smithville, Tennessee. Jack proudly served his country as a Sergeant First Class in the United States Army and the United States Army Reserves. He was employed by the U.S. Postal Service as an Electronic Technician for nearly four decades. His days often began before sunrise and long before clocking in at his day job at the Post Office. Jack’s real passion was cattle farming. He owned and operated his farm until the day of his death, a total of 64 years. For those who knew Jack, his love of music was evident. He spoke with a big, loud booming voice, but sang with a beautiful, mellow voice. He was a true county crooner with a knack for guitar playing from a young age. He entertained his fellow troops overseas while in the Army. Jack also hosted “The Jack Kilgore Show” that aired every Saturday live from WSGI radio studios in Springfield, Tennessee. He continued his love of music while playing shows for senior citizen centers where family and friends would come to dance to classic country music.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Kilgore; grandson, William Clinton McKee; siblings, Erie Kilgore, Ruby Hendrix, Virginia “Tootsie” Knepper Amburgy, Frank Kilgore, Jimmy Kilgore, Glen Kilgore, Don Kilgore, Patsy Majors, and Sam Kilgore.
Survivors include his son, Jack Mason (Michelle) Kilgore; daughters, Debbie (Mark) Bishop and Tessa (Kevin) Burnett; brothers, Bryant (Dean) Kilgore, Harold (Jackie) Kilgore, and Kelly (Ginny) Kilgore; sisters, Myrtle Ruth Reeder, Gaynell Walker, and Sharon (Roby) Binkley; grandchildren, Jacquelyn Whitt (Chuck), Jenna Zarchin (Max), Mason Kilgore, Kalin Kilgore, Aaron Burnett (Grace), Bryson Burnett (Tori), and Chris Kilgore (Jenny); great-grandchildren, Blake, Jade, Juliette, Brady, Lucy, Emma, and Ava; and great-great-grandchildren, Easton, Drew, and Grey.
