Bloody Disgusting

This nonstop barrage of scares and super creepy set pieces is the equivalent of venturing into a haunted house attraction. It doesn't offer much in the way of a fully fleshed out plot with concrete answers, but it doesn't need to.

John D I'm divided on this movie, hence the 3 stars. An interesting take on dead people intruding into our world and some good creepy moments but troubled by jumbled plotting and failing to focus on whose story is primary and whose are secondary. And all that elicits, is an excuse for a rewatch and an opportunity to again enjoy a hell of a horror film; that certainly should not have been overlooked since it's release in 2017. As a Shudder Original, this may actually be best in show and I am thankful this was recommended by several sources on several occasions. Just a tad displeased with myself it took me so long to invest. But wholly happy to say Terrified has been enlisted to my favourite horror films of all time. Highly recommend. However the film takes a drastic turn in it's 2nd and 3rd act, replacing any sense of suspense with every formulaic cheap horror you can imagine. The atmosphere is dull, the plot is predictable and tries too hard to explain the unknown with horrid dialogue. I can recall one good scare in it's whole runtime and the 15 seconds it happened in were the only highlight for the whole movie.
