In honor of our 50th Anniversary, Orlando Ballet is thrilled to present the World Premiere of a ground-breaking production of The Nutcracker. This from-scratch, Broadway-caliber production will be the largest ever created by an Orlando-based performing arts organization, featuring enchanting new choreography, stunning costumes, fantastical sets, and magical stage elements.
Staying true to the traditional story of a young girl’s love for her favorite Christmas gift bestowed by the town’s toymaker, this exciting new production set to Tchaikovsky’s timeless score promises to form new and renewed holiday traditions for years to come.
Artistic Director, Jorden Morris, spent three years reimagining the production with a creative team of world-renowned designers, including Orlando Ballet’s Associate Artistic Director, Lisa Thorn Morris, award-winning Costume and Set Designer, Robert Perdziola, and Lighting Designer Joseph Walls.
“The Nutcrackeris universally beloved, so we all understood our responsibility to protect the story and [of course] the music. Having this special team of creative and enthusiastic experts share in revisioning all the tradition and charm of this classic in a new and innovative way is a choreographer’s dream,” said Morris. “We’ve created something very special for Central Florida.”

The Nutcracker Family & Sensory-Friendly Performance:
This enchanting holiday classic is specially designed forfamilies of all ages. For our Sensory-Friendly performances, patrons can expect awelcoming, supportive environmentfor people of all abilities to enjoy this full-length live ballet performance. Adjustments to sound and lighting effects, including keeping the house lights dimly on, will be made. Designated quiet spaces will be available for those needing a break during the performance, and you will be allowed to come in and out of the theatre as needed.
