The Lay of The Land

※	In Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance, you are given a choice at the start to either "take her hand" or "not take her hand". Depending on which option you choose, the route you take will be decided. Take her hand: Canon of Vengeance (New Story） Don't take her hand: Canon of Creation (Old Story）
1	Decide your difficuly level. We recommend choosing Normal if you've already played Canon of Creation. ▶Recommended Difficulty Settings
2	Next, decide your character's first and last name. Feel free to name your character however you want! ▶ Is There a Canon Protagonist Name?
3	After talking to three people, approach the front door of the classroom
4	After a choice, go home with Yuzuru and the group. Neither choice will affect the ending.
5	Head to Shinagawa: West
6	Check on the crowd and talk to Miyazu after.
7	Head to Takanawa Tunnel, north of Jouin High School and Shinagawa: West.
8	After a short cutscene with Ichiro Dazai, enter Da'at.
9	Head to the objective point and meet Aogami. Neither choice will affect the ending.
10	After transforming into the Nahobino, you will learn the basics of combat afterwards.
11	After the battle, Aogami will teach you about the basic movement and overworld features in Da'at.
12	Head to Tokyo Tower after climbing the platform, and receive the main quest, "Lay of the Land".

1	At the bottom of the hill, you will encounter a leyline fount. Interacting with it will transport you to Cadaver's Hollow, where you will meet the shopkeep Gustave.
2	Approach the Miman north of the leyline fount. Learn about Glory and Miman. All Miman Locations | Miman Rewards
3	Return to Cadaver's Hollow and talk to Gustave. Obtain Onmoraki's Essence and learn about demon essences.
4	Past the Miman, recruit the Pixie nearby. Learn about demon recruiment and relics afterwards.
5	After turning right on the fork, you will see a demon in a kimono being attack by a group of Pretas. Defeat the group and learn about Magatsuhi skills. Turning left on the fork will lead you to the subquest, "A Preta Predicament" to obtain a Haunt Talisman.
6	Continue forward towards the objective point and Aogami will point you towards a Proto-fiend husk. Obtain Aogami-Type A Essence.
7	Interacting with the leyline fount nearby will teleport you into the World of Shadows, where you will meet Sophia. Learn about Miracles and Essence Fusions. Gustave will tell you about fast travel between leyline founts.
8	Advance forward to clear the Abscess in Mita. After the battle, learn about Magatsu Rails.
9	Follow the objective point and in front of the Yamanote line, you will encounter Yuzuru and will be prompted with a choice. Neither choice will affect the ending.
10	【Canon of Vengeance】 After a short cutscene, you will meet Yoko Hiromine and be engaged in a boss battle with Glasya-Labolas. Use Electric attacks against this boss to gain extra Press Turns.
11	Head north from the Yamanote Line. Northeast of the Yamanote Line, you can start a quest where you can either recruit Apsaras or Leanan Sidhe to your party. Apsaras or Leanan Sidhe: Best Demon to Side With
12	Following the road will lead you to the leyline fount of Shiba. The demon in a kimono, Amanozako, will join you as your navigator. List of All Quest Navigators
13	Interacting with the Shiba leyline fount will introduce you to Demon Haunts. You will be able to interact with the demons that you've befriended. These demons will be able to level up, learn skills or give you items. You will be able to also interact Aogami on the bench and have conversations with him. In rare cases, you will be able to strengthen the Nahobino through conversations with Aogami.
14	Head towards the Shiba Park abcess, and engage in a battle against Kodama. Magatsuhi demons in this Abscess may drop Incense. Mermaid is weak against Fire and Ice attacks, spamming Agi and Bufu will net you more Press Turns.
15	Head towards the Hamamatsucho abcess, and engage in a battle against Mermaid. Magatsuhi demons in this Abscess may drop Incense. Mermaid is weak against Fire and Electric attacks, spamming Agi and Zio will net you more Press Turns.
16	After clearing the abscess in Shiba Park and Hamamatsucho, head towards Tokyo Tower. An Aogami Essence can be found at the top of the hill just before the highway. South of the Hamamtsucho leyline fount, under the highway, you can start The Cursed Mermaids Sidequest here.
17	Open the leyline fount nearest to the Tokyo Tower. We highly recommned saving here and preparing your party for a boss battle. We recommend being at least Level 15.
18	Defeat the Hydra to complete the Lay of the Land Main Quest. Hydra is weak against Ice, prepare demons that carry Bufu and who aren't weak against Fire. It's also ideal to bring Fire and Dark Dampeners to help mitigate damage against the Hydra.

Learning the Combat Basics

After forging a bond with Aogami and transforming to Nahobino, you will fight against a demon and learn how to fight.

Follow the tips that appear on your screen to defeat the Daemon. Here, you will learn the basics of combat such as attacking, using skills, and affinities. Reduce your enemy's HP to 0 to win the battle and level up.

Beginner's Guide

Save Often in Leyline Founts

The blue pillars of light called Leyline Fount allows you to save your progress, as well as access Gustave's shop, recover HP and MP, and fast travel.

Make a habit of saving your progress each time you run into a fount as you can potentially lose a lot of progress if you unexpectedly fall in battle.

Destroying the Abscess in Mita

Demon That Appear

We recommend recruiting a Slime and an Onmoraki with you before approaching it and make sure to save beforehand. Demons will spawn around as you get near. You can ignore these and waltz straight to the Abscess. Slash it to initiate the battle.

This Abscess inhabits 3 Mandrake, all are weak to Fire, so use Agi on each of them. Using Omagatoki: Critical before you attack makes quick work of this gang.

This Abscess will send in a Mermaid which is weak to Fire and Electric attacks. We recommend recruiting a Cait Sith for an additional member that can spam Zio.

Northeast of Hamamatsucho's leyline fount is a narrow path leading to a group of Daemon. Recruit one of them as you'll need it for the next Abscess. Level up a bit until Nahobino is around Lvl 10 to make the next fight more doable.

Head southwest to reach the Abscess in Shiba Park. Bring Pixie, Cait Sith, and Daemon along with you to face 2 Sudama, both weak to Fire and Ice attacks.

Preparing for Hydra

Save your progress in the leyline fount near the Tokyo Tower and start preparing for the upcoming boss fight if you're not yet ready. We recommend bringing Mermaid, Angel, and Apsaras and your team should be around lv15.

Take note that there are other possible combinations!

Fuse a demon who knows Bufu to Nahobino and if you have the essence of Daemon, you can fuse it as well to gain Fire resistance. You can obtain a Daemon essence from a treasure box northeast of Hamamatsucho's leyline fount.

Tips and Strategy
Weak to Electric Learn how to utilize guest characters

This Vengeance-only boss introduces a new mechanic to the game: Guest Characters. These party members will join you temporarily in battle and may join you afterwards and they behave and play like regular demons. Yuzuru and Yoko joins your party and automatically takes the place of your first two demons.

Take advatange of Rakunda

Yuzuru's Rakunda skill is a great debuff to inflict on Glasya-Labolas, lowering its defense by 1 rank. Combining this with Yoko's Zio skill, as well as Nahobino's starting Zio skill will deal massive damage to it.

Spam Zio Skills

We recommend grabbing Gremlin, who has learned Zio, or a healer like Pixie to keep your character's HP up. Spam Zio and Yuzuru's Gram Slice and Rakunda to quickly bring this boss down.

Don't forget to activate Omagatoki: Critical at the start of your turn to increase your damage output.

How to Beat Glasya-Labolas Boss Fight

Hydra

Recommended Level: 15
Tips and Strategy
Weak to Ice Bring Fire Dampeners Bring Dark Dampeners

The recommended team has demons that can dish out massive damage to Hydra with their Ice attacks but are in turn, weak to Fire. Since Hydra uses Fire attacks, bring a few Fire Dampeners to protect your attackers while spamming Bufu. Use a Dark Dampener after Hydra builds up Magatsuhi as it's most likely to use Toxic Breath next turn.

Don't forget to activate Omagatoki: Critical at the start of your turn to increase your damage output.
