Over the weekend, #MDFR continued assisting residents affected by the recent flooding in Miami-Dade County. As part of our response, MDFR’s crews and Flood Response Team navigated residential areas utilizing high-axle water rescue vehicles, canvassed affected neighborhoods, conducted door-to-door wellness checks to ensure residents' well-being, and provided additional support as needed. #AlwaysReadyProudToServe

Today, #MDFR welcomed its newest recruit class to our training facilities. The 39 state-certified #MDFRClass155 recruits met their instructors this morning and began their 16-week rigorous firefighter training. Gerard Forrester for receiving the 2024 Fire Investigator of the Year award from the Florida Fire Marshals and Inspectors Association and the Florida Fire and Explosion Investigators Association at the 36th Annual Florida Association of Fire and Life Safety Educators and the 79th Annual Florida Arson Seminar Joint Conference in Lake Buena Vista, FL.Capt. Forrester, has a long history of service at MDFR and currently serves as the Fire Investigation Bureau Officer-in-Charge (OIC) overseeing the administration and operations of the MDFR Fire and Explosion Investigators.
